I don't think the DOE is going to make the deadline.

I agree from what I been hearing and seeing on the news
What difference does it make. They probably won't work anyway

They say they're going to make the deadline, but you're probably right!

Rumor has it that the BOE wants every driver to do TWO dry runs BEFORE school starts. So be prepared to do it Mon., Tue. or Wed. (Sept.2nd-4th) since that is a guaranteed week. But now that I think of it it's not guaranteed for "new hires". So I don't know if they can be forced to do it before school starts. That's a Union decision. Like I said it's only a rumor that I heard. I'm sure if it's true Andy will inform us at the Refresher Course.

Did you ever know a rumor at Pioneer NOT to be true? ;D ;D ;D
My info is that we have to do "a" dry run. Shouldn't be a problem for most being we're going back to our old run and have done many, many REAL runs ... LOL.
Also, stop thinking so much. ;D ;D ;D
GPSs are being installed in regular ed buses at Pioneer NOW. They're not like the ones on special ed buses that we were given a class on a couple of years ago. No screens, no info for us to enter. Actually, I'm told we won't even see them.
From what I've read and been told, they will transmit location and mechanical info to OPT (and eventually Pioneer). But the systems they're installing this year will be replaced with new ones next year that will work with an app parents can have on their phones. (Money is no object ... LOL.)
Buzz, will you be posting a bus list when it comes out?
I hope they have enough drivers. We can't show OPT how the work is covered they will see and can bite us in the ass

Sure will ... when (and if) Bobby gives it to me.

Good point. I don't know, but I doubt they'll be tracking 6,000 buses everyday. I think it's mostly for routes that are running late or parents are calling and complaining about. Just my opinion.
Your opinion matters
I like thinking of my Brothers & Sisters. How would you like to come in on a day that you're not getting paid for and go out and do your morning & afternoon run not only once but possibly twice?

Yeah it bit somebody in the ass that didn't deserve it and look what happened to him

OMG! Stop being so serious. It was an off the cuff remark. Sheesh! Lighten up!

Anybody want to guess who's taking his place?
I'm sure we all have a good guess. The real question should be does anyone want to post it here?
Why not it will probably be Carmine.not a bad guy I like him but it will not be easy filling those shoes
I thought that at first but I don't think so. My pick is Buzz!
That would be mine too but Carmine has experience
Carmine is taking Tommy's place.

Bingo! We have a winner.
Good kid, Carmine. I wish him the best of luck.
Carmine is more then qualified to take Tommy's spot. It's really unfortunate what happened to tommy but they made there decision. Carmine has the experience. he did this exact job at his old company before coming here he has the knowledge and is familiar with Staten island it's really a no brainer in my opinion and he's really easy to talk to one of the best guys I've ever had the pleasure of working with he'll be fine and I wish him nothing but the best
Is Carmine definitely taking the job? As I said I thought he would be the best replacement for Tommy but I didn't think he had enough time as a driver to put his papers in.
Yes, he is replacing Tommy.
This is not the first company he worked for so I don't know how much time he has in the union.
Meant to post this sooner ... as it turns out, Vinny's lost 35 runs. Some of those drivers found their way to Pioneer. Right now it looks like there will not only be enough drivers to cover all the runs, but there will be shapes as well.
I heard about Vinny's losing the 35 runs last week. I also heard TODAY that we are still short drivers. Both from what I consider very reliable sources. I guess we'll find out next week
Also I hope my source with regards to the number of drivers is wrong for two reasons. Even tough the extra money is nice, it will cause less confusion with who gets extra work and who doesn't. And more importantly it's better for the Union.
