I agree that email was very generalized in its content. You would think they would be as specific with an email concerning Nov 30th as they were about the availability to opt out.

They need to send out something much more definitive about who is working and where they are up to on the list of people that want to work.

A better explanation of what we have concerning medical benefits and pension and what we would be responsible for financially would be nice as well.

I truly just don't understand why everything is so last minute.

Hammer your last line.  I think you really should have said you expected this to be last minute decision.  This job has never been on top of the ball.

Steady, unfortunately truer words were never spoken. If they get this right I will be truly surprised.
I am not sure if it's totally Pioneer's fault or if OPT has failed to give them a list of schools opened or closed. Either way it's a cluster FUCK !!!!

Yes I believe our union cannot give out work unless opt notifies pioneer then pioneer notifies our union then us the bottom rung.  This why I feel the possibly a notification might be sent out that those with seniority 1-whatever # would complete their routes to report Monday morning. Some senior guys might not want to work and collect unemployment, I know of one. They might call more than needed. If I get sent home it is what it is.

How definite could they be if they don't know how many schools will be open and who will be working?

The memo from Michael did say our contribution to welfare (medical) would be paid by the company for December. It did not mention pension so I'm assuming that will be tacked on to the $10 per week we're making up now.

Why so last minute? Because OPT will be advising the company of school closings up to the last minute today ... and who knows if there won't be more changes by the morning? This is neither the company's or the union's fault.
I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

Keep in mind, the office and the union are at the mercy of OPT. Everything depends upon them.

So WHEN IS THE PICK FOR THE SECOND HALF ? Cricket cricket cricket 🦗😂
