It's a New Year & a New Mayor. After this past year a little bit of faith and encouragement couldn't & wouldn't hurt. Don't get me wrong everyone has their own opinion and I respect that but I personally am sick of the negativity. For those of you who constantly keep saying "The New Mayor will not make a difference, our Union Reps don't care or this Job is Over With" why don't you just quit now and give someone who needs and cares a job? OTHERWISE BE A UNION BROTHER AND DO SOMETHING POSITIVE TO HELP THIS LOCAL!!!

Any truth to Squid's question about having to show up even if schools are closed?

"NEW HIRES" (At Pioneer who started April 1, 2013 or after) should check with Ernie. I believe if you only work 2 or 3 days this week that's all you get paid for. Which means if you gross less than $405.00 this week this coming Sunday you can claim Unemployment Benefits. I am almost positive but again CHECK WITH ERNIE or ANDY.

Does anyone know (for sure) if Pioneer will get any of Atlantic's runs starting 1/2/14. If so, how many and will they actually be pulling out of Arthur Kill or Sharrotts or possibly still out of Atlantic's yard?

CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. According to yabba's post the one starting out "December 9th" it appears that the NLRB in D.C. is stating we get our money. At the bottom it is signed off by the Board Director on December 20.

Since u insist on continuously bringing his name up I am forced to do the same because it turns my stomach. Neil could give a shit about any of us or our Retro checks. It's his money (really ours), if he wants to he could give it to us today. The MOA states the NLRB has to waive the interest and okay the calculations. Which eventually they will. PAY US NOW WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR INTEREST & IF THE CALCULATIONS ON WRONG ADJUST IT LATER. Again the MOA does not state that the NLRB is refraining NEIL from giving us OUR money. Furthermore if he wanted to he could just pay us for the Easter week & the vacation weeks. Payroll knows exactly how many weeks each employee is owed. As per our contract they should be separate checks anyway. Then in the future we each can get a check for what the weekly deductions were. THAT IS WHAT A GOOD PERSON THAT WANTS TO PUT THINGS BEHIND HIM DOES. I trully appreciate what you do here, so maybe you can pass this on to Ernie & Neil.

Nobody said you are a bad Union member. I think just the opposite. You are a good and conscientious member. My point was that unless we remained status quo or better I FEEL NEIL SHOULD NOT GET ANY TYPE OF PRAISE FROM ONE OF US.

One last thing. I respect your opinion but in my opinion no Union member at Pioneer should be saying anything good about Neil. Especially publicly on the internet. Saying his hands are tied and he's going by the rules and has to wait is BS. DON'T FORGET HE WASN'T WORRIED ABOUT THE RULES WHEN HE AND OTHERS ILLEGALLY DECLARED AN IMPASSE AND IMPOSED "THEIR BEST & FINAL OFFER". AFTER ALL THAT'S WHY WE'RE WAITING FOR OUR RETRO NOW. BECAUSE HE DIDN'T PLAY BY THE RULES THEN!

It's Christmas people were not only expecting but needed that money.  So if we're not getting the money sometimes just a word goes a long way.

I would have to assume he means we here nothing from our union reps. Even though the MOA stated all 3 parts would have to be completed before we got our money and after the vote Ernie & Andy said we just have to wait there is a moral part. BEFORE THE VOTE WE WERE TOLD IF YOU VOTE YES WE SHOULD GET OUR MONEY IN TWO WEEKS. People assumed that YES meant the other two parts would come as quick as the medical deductions went. It's been well past two weeks & a few days to our Christmas break. MEMBERS WOULD JUST LIKE TO HERE SOMETHING FROM OUR REPS. It's human nature.

As unfortunate as it is the truth is that apparently by June of 2015 there may no longer be a Local 1181. If their is we will ALL probably be working for $15.00 p/HR and have no medical. Our only hope is Mayor DeBlasio so start writing your letters ASAP. FOR THOSE OF U WHO THINK THAT WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE STOP COMPLAINING & GIVE US A BETTER IDEA.
