If the 2014 contract bids went out already, how many of us are left and can we keep the pension going?  Might be not enough of us working to make that happen.  Only people left are the ones whose contract runs out in 2015.

hideout

What is the date for the upcomming election?

Supposedly, the pension fund could sustain itself for 12 years if the local were to go belly-up at any time. Assuming we get the EPP back, when those 2014 contracts come up for bid again they will be subject to same, and those people will start contributing to the fund again.
I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

I then called the unions pension department and they also told me that the PBGC did not insure our pensions, but not to worry because the pension fund is in good shape right now and the pensions would be good for 15 years until the pension fund would then be compromised.

We just lost 3 years.
