Work Related / Current negotiations
October 21, 2018, 11:38:00 PM
Can someone inform us if the current negotiations are for one contract for all companies? The letter we received from 1181 was addressed to only 8 companies..... long standing companies like Consolidated, Hoyt and newcomer Reliant were not addressed? Is there a reason why?

Work Related / New General Election
September 23, 2016, 10:47:38 PM
I was invited to a meeting this morning at the Dep't of Labor in NYC to discuss the upcoming election of Local 1181. The Dep't of labor found that the last election was run unfairly and has ordered a NEW election to take place on December 13, 2016. The nomination meeting will be held On October 18,2016. IF 1181 can secure a place to hold the meeting. That was the tentative date discussed but I had to leave to go back to work. I am running on the Tom Salerno Slate and it is our intention to do nothing but help the membership get back to being respected by Contractors, as it seems to have gotten lost somehow! Tom has 42 years in the union, and a total of 14 years as a shop steward and Executive Board member. His disagreeing with Michael Cordiello on many issues concerning membership led to Mr. Cordiello to not run him on the 1181 slate in 2009. He is The RIGHT MAN to lead this fractured local. ALL of the delegation that he has chosen have many, many years in the industry. Please stand behind us and positive changes will SOON be a way of life at Pioneer and all shops belonging to local 1181! Thank You!

I cannot believe my ears and eyes! There are many, many drivers leaving the yard before your report times! Are you fuckin kidding me! Didn't ANYONE take Ernie seriously when he asked the Pioneer drivers to play by the rules and go to your bus at the report time and then spend 10 minutes on your pre- check. No wonder Neil is laughing his ass off at us assholes! Wait till you guys who do project read find out you are NOT gonna get overtime! The BOSS is cutting that out also! Look in the Goddamn mirror and ask yourself WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fellow Brothers and Sisters of Pioneer and all other Companies doing Bd. of Ed work. At this point of the strike it seems that frustrations are mounting, and I have personally heard from a lot of the drivers and escorts. My plan is as follows: Every Driver and Escort of Local 1181 meet one day next week on the Brooklyn bridge, and March over to bridge to City Hall! At the same time we have 100 cars waiting in the wings to cross over bridge at same time and at same pace as all of us walking over the bridge to City hall! This will create a HUGE traffic mess as well as send a message to City Hall. I have heard thru the grapevine this is illegal! Didn't the Fckin Mayor circumvent the law when he had it changed to get elected to a third term? And then ONLY to change it back again after he was elected? Our Voices are NOT being heard the way we are currently Striking! Time for an alternate Plan!!!!!!!!!P.S. WHERE are our elected officials now that we NEED THEM NOW!!!!!!!
