Fellow Brothers and Sisters of Pioneer and all other Companies doing Bd. of Ed work. At this point of the strike it seems that frustrations are mounting, and I have personally heard from a lot of the drivers and escorts. My plan is as follows: Every Driver and Escort of Local 1181 meet one day next week on the Brooklyn bridge, and March over to bridge to City Hall! At the same time we have 100 cars waiting in the wings to cross over bridge at same time and at same pace as all of us walking over the bridge to City hall! This will create a HUGE traffic mess as well as send a message to City Hall. I have heard thru the grapevine this is illegal! Didn't the Fckin Mayor circumvent the law when he had it changed to get elected to a third term? And then ONLY to change it back again after he was elected? Our Voices are NOT being heard the way we are currently Striking! Time for an alternate Plan!!!!!!!!!P.S. WHERE are our elected officials now that we NEED THEM NOW!!!!!!!

We should all go back to work and re-negotiate this differently...can't you see striking is NOT working.. If the mayor gives the contractors permission to hire drivers, we can be permanently out of a job... If all the bus companies stood with us, we would probably have a shot, but we don't have that shot, these other unions are working right now,, How does that make us look?  We all have jobs till June,, let's go back to work.. Tomorrow is the last day of medical benefits..

I understand, but the 1,100 runs that are up in June, If those drivers lose those runs, do you know what happens?? It becomes a union master pick, in senority..  and then what?? If we dont' get the epp put back in, then the union is going to have to protect us in senority, and those guys will take our runs..  If our buses start rolling out of that gate, we got problems..  I think he has 60 or 70 drivers already hired.. a police officer told me. Alot of drivers and matrons that I am talking to feel the same as I do.. and want to go back to work now.. You hear one thing on the news and that's it.. not enough is going on...  I wish the union would simply end the strike and negotiate another way..

Driver....going back is now out of the question....the union just offered that and they (mayor/City said no) denied us. Its clear as day they want to break us,via the strike or down the road in a few months, What exactly do you want the union and us as drivers to do now? we are in all or none.

You just stated the very reason why we cannot go back to work until we have the promise of job security, even if only temporary while negotiations are carried out.

Alot of drivers and matrons that I am talking to feel the same as I do.. and want to go back to work now.. You hear one thing on the news and that's it.. not enough is going on...  I wish the union would simply end the strike and negotiate another way..

What the you and "alot" [cic] of drivers and matrons who want to go back to work don't understand is that we do not have a contract now.  (Pioneer does, WE don't.) You may go back to work for less pay, and may or may not have benefits. The union cannot "simply" end the strike without at least the guarantee of job protection. We give in now, we loose everything.

Also, for anybody thinking of becoming a scab ... you might as well have a big red "X" tattooed on your forehead and know that the union can impose a fine for every day that you work ... which may be equal to or greater than what you get paid for a day.

You might want to give it a little more consideration.

Please be just a little more patient! The contractors are employing "scare" tactics right now. Neil Strahl and Dom Gatto are Not telling the employees the Truth! Example no.1. On Friday of last week, FAT Dominick Gatto got out of his chauffered cadillac and went over to to 1181 Attendants and asked them to cross the picket line, quit 1181 and then work in HIS union local 355! He told them he will provide medical for them and their family! What he Didn't tell them is that if they retire from 1181 , then they Cannot Collect their pensions while they are working for another company in the industry! Neil has told our employees that we must come back to work or we will lose our seniority to new drivers and matrons if we settle strike and come back to work. Totally Untrue!! PLEASE listen to our Executive Board as there is an ongoing plan in place that does take time!

Exactly, John. That's what we need to do. We elected them, now let them do what we pay them for! This strike will be their "defining moment" but they have to have our total support.

And take note of what he says about union busters' strategy to "divide and conquer" and use fear as a tactic. Some of us are letting that happen here ... DON'T LET IT. Stay strong in your convictions and we will prevail. If we let fear take over we will have defeated ourselves.

Driver, I'd like to know where, and what time is your picket line post.  Do you preach your point of view openly to everyone on the line or just behind the keyboard?  I am fearful for my future, along with 8000 other 1181 members.  But I stand in solidarity on the line and scream at these scabs as they roll in, I suggest you do the same. It might relieve some stress.
