Red Light Camera Research Methods- Reports Critiques
Link?
I am sorry Buzz was looking at two different pages at the same time :
"While they eliminated T-Bone accidents.......... they are almost universally credited for increasing rear-end accidents. "
http://autos.aol.com/article/red-light-camera-accidents/
PS my quote in my first post I cant seem to find....When I find the page to reference that I will post....in the meantime the post above was in the link posted.
From the National Motorist Association:

My Conclusion is Govt agencies will counter with there studies. However if you piece all of the above together it makes sense its just a money making deal. Fact is some people will slow or stop at a stale green in locations locally that they know. I believe that is a formula for an accident more often then not getting a bill in the mail. What do you think?
Well, for sure it's a money-maker and from those articles there is no clear consensus as to whether they prevent or cause accidents. My real beef with these things are that it seems that the yellow lights are severely shortened whenever they install a camera. This makes it more of a trap than the purportedly intended safety device ... whether it actually is or not.
Come on Buzz , I am sure you remember when traffic lights had no yellow in between the red and green ! tweet
