1181 Matters / Union Thought
June 22, 2011, 12:45:18 AM
"There are enough fights for us to take on with enemies of the Union. We dont need to fight each other. More then any other time labor is under attack. As your International President it is frustrating to watch some hard working officers under constant attack by people in there own Union. We are democratic and our Union halls are where we have our debates.Sometimes we take our debates too far,to the point that we disrupt the ability of our Union to Function".- Larry Hanley, International President.

I agree with this statement in the May/June 2011 In Transit magazine,it is some good insight.

1181 Matters / Re: Cordiello Slate Wins Big!
June 10, 2011, 11:40:25 PM
Thankfully 1181 members voted the most deserving, hardest working and credible people back in.Congrats to the Cordiello slate. Also a very big Congrats to Eddie Gigs obtaining VP ! Very good results and yes for the next 3 years all is safe and sound!     ;D     I hope this is a new trend and false prophets with false hopes suffer hardships of immense proportion at the voting booths!

Eerily similiar....I wouldnt take any more chances, experience certainly proves there surprises cost you alot in your pocket! ;D
#454
It does sound clever.....if it worked I am sure we would have known this earlier from our elected reps. I will do as they say avoid the lights altogether.

Very true ......it is a "thankless"spot. I know both Ernie and Andy do this job well and they go way beyond what they could ever be compensated for. There job isnt close to being easy and Ernie and Andy make a great team. Its a pleasure and honor to know they have our backs no matter what the case.....they do whatever it takes. What more can you say or do that would change the 20%  and there views????and there mind??????.Also that 20% is probably in the low teens and single digits for this next election!

Just Right I agree 100%!

Just Right, thats a great point.....though lets entertain freedom of choice, allow whomever wants to challenge give it there best shot.....and let the process be fair (as is always the case)so that when Ernie and Andy win in a landslide there will be no doubt  and no one can complain. That proportion is so tilted from the effort and job they do and put in daily.

If they had all the answers and there message was out properly they wouldnt need to show up at any properties. ((( Grassroots Campaigning)))))Coming at the time they did was late ,why show up that late at a garage of this size when you need every vote you can get? When they did come why slam(reportedly) the Shop Steward with whom a clear Majority is VERY happy with him?

1181 Matters / Re: Salerno slate visits Pioneer

Thankfully My Ballot already went in for The Cordiello Slate(before this incident),,,,before I was 100% sure now I am 110% positive this vote was the best, efficient move to make.

I am not going to knock Salerno.....dont know the guy. Stu, if he can do all of what you said Mr. Cordiello shouldnt bother running because Salerno would win in a landslide. I think Mr. Cordiello wants the same things as Mr. Salerno. The problem is how to get that done. I havent heard exactly how (he)would do that....that "how' Is a very big question and and even bigger void. In todays economy  the very real problems facing us along with more scrutiny I personally really dont want  to chance my backing behind a greenhorn. Look at whats happening on Pennsylvania Avenue....its down right scary when someone gets into a position without the necessary experience. Mr. Cordiello does have this under his belt. Again not a knock against any of his opponents,he has what it takes and thats a known factor.

1181 Matters / Re: Credit Union Election
May 20, 2011, 01:43:25 AM
I just hope the people that took time to go and didnt get the chance to vote dont get disgruntled and go back and finish this off the right way. This stall tactic shouldnt be a win for them .....hopefully they just delayed the inevitable!   They would have surely made sure that election went off had they known they had a slam dunk, disgusting!

I hate to say what playbook(not holding an election) that comes right out of. Moving forward I still dont see how an election gets cancelled just for this reason,a (it seems) a trumped up reason to an eventual loss. I cant say I havent seen this in the past, and in other places as well....and it wont be the last time you see it.

Buzz I didnt think your response was any different from ones in the past. I guess being thoughtful and articulate are lost trades since the majority of the media doesnt practice that  ;D
