Anyone hear the driver this morning say OPT was checking mask, how many students and ALL windows must be open? The hell is that crap. I've only been doing my Emergency windows,
Driver window and the two windows in the back that are naturally cracked. We were never instructed to have ALL windows and um do they want us to get sick with It still being cold....

Now does anyone know if he was fined because he had no mask on with kids or without kids? I'm going to say with kids because then 99 percent of the yard would get it without kids. There was no clear cut policy on to wear a mask in an empty bus. And 460 is a bit extreme. Anyone else hear about this because I saw the sign on the window and hearing mixed stories of he had an empty bus and had kids on the bus.

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- New York City's public middle schools will reopen following winter break, the Department of Education announced Monday morning.

Teachers will report the week of February 22, with students returning to class on February 25.

Anyone know if we get paid for Lunar New Year next Friday 2/12 if you don't go out? And if so do new hires that are here for a year get paid for not going out ?

Not sure if anyone knows Tommy LoMeo or remembers him but I think he retired a few years ago. He's a former driver for Pionneer and Hoyt(believe he was the Shop Steward there too) I'm a friend of the family and they just wanted me to pass a message of his passing.

So I'm confused on how this works lol...a girl on my bus tested positive last week along with the whole first grade. School never called me, Pionneer never called me, contact Tracing agency never called me YET my friend got a call from the office saying the city told him He has to Quarantine because a kid in the school has the virus

My guess is the school never contacted the city or pioneer.....

We are pleased to inform you that the City of New York is beginning its vaccination rollout which now includes the school bus staff who are administering a NYC DOE contracted service.

In order to make an appointment you will first need to visit the site https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/Public/prescreener and complete the pre-screener questionnaire to determine your eligibility. When you reach the section "Additional Information" you will need to respond NO to the first three (3) questions. The fourth (4) question "Are you employed in a P-12 school or school district" you are to respond YES and in the drop down box for "Select the type of employee" please choose CONTRACTOR WORKING IN A P-12 SCHOOL OR SCHOOL DISTRICT.

Once you have completed the prescreen process you then are able to make your appointment by visiting https://apps.health.ny.gov/doh2/applinks/cdmspr/2/counties
It is our understanding that there will be additional sites added, however immediate appointments are available only in Manhattan at the Javits Center.

When scheduling your vaccination appointment please keep in mind there inevitably will be long lines and significant wait times so do not make an appointment that may interfere with your work schedule.

Soooo I was told today a student of mine I drive for RJJ tested positive today. She was last on my bus yesterday...does anyone know the protocol for us? I mean I'm not concerned because she literally comes on my bus with a mask sits in her seat and gets off the the bus at her stop, but does anyone know what the protocol is?

To all Drivers and Attendants;

Following up on the November 25 memo issued by Local 1181 regarding Thanksgiving Week Employee Wages, which recognized "it is both the companies and the unions understanding, all employees who do not have a route on 11/30 will be temporarily furloughed effective Sunday 11/29", it appears from the latest DOE announcement that this furlough will be short. Here is what we know so far.
1181/Pioneer Memo
If you are not assigned a run operating on November 30, you are furloughed effective November 29, 2020. A list of routes and employees assigned can be found below.

The Mayor has announced that the majority of schools are opening December 7th, however we will communicate with you later in the week how that affects your recall from furlough.

We will give you more information on recall once we know it.

Please do not travel outside New York State or the contiguous states (as defined by the State of New York) because if you do so you must quarantine upon your return and are not eligible to collect unemployment insurance during your quarantine.

Your shop stewards have assigned the work based on seniority from the most senior employee down the lists. Any employee who communicated to their shop steward choosing not to work will remain on furlough or be furloughed as applicable.

Those employees that who have chosen to work are required to service the route assigned to them. If an employee does not service the assigned route, unemployment benefits will be jeopardized as they are not privy to the designation "lack of work". 

If not enough employees choose to work, the companies may "force" the work from the most junior employee up the lists.

As per the agreement between the companies and union, your medical coverage will continue through the month of December even if you are furloughed.
