Title: Strike
Post by: Goose623 on December 23, 2012, 05:57:54 AM
What's going on r we striking or not? Bloomberg is killing us in the media what is r response?  If we strike we need to b all in. Good thing for us is a lot of people don't like the mayor. He says its unlawful for what we r asking. I say it was unlawful for his 3rd term.

It looks like the BOE is putting the Pre-K and Special Ed work out without the Mollen Agreement.

Funny how the city that fights to keep out Walmart cause of being non union and the not so fair wage and benefit package goes after us ....a union over that very same thing. Maybe just maybe the street signs being changed to capitalize,Citytime scandal, Money for two brand new baseball stadiums, Trumps new Golf course(built w taxpayer funds but not many 1181 drivers will be able to play on this golf course), and on and on....is finally catching up. PS The new mayor is looking at a 4 Billion dollar budget gap. I guess the current Billionaire  mayor never really did solve the problems that people thought he could now did he? An old Colleague summed up New York City....I never thought id say the Dinkins days were better we had some security and every week wasnt a threat of a new tax or freedom being taken away.:snicker:

Does anybody else feel completely uninformed?  If we strike what about medical ....unemployment ....strike money .....union position.....etc.  Why don't we know or hear ANYTHING. Even just our current position.  Are we asking too much?

Sadly the new term when you see a drivers is "you hear anything?'. I hope thats cause  the Union is greasing its wheels and reaching out to political allies that have no problem taking COPE from my check every week. Yes this is all political....where is our political friends? Any Mayoral Candidate thats running needs to stand with us or against us. Choose....which side are you on....I dont want these people not committed and getting away with being back benchers, Expose all that want to go against us.
Some better Public Relations even amongst us members can go a long way in unchartered waters.

In regards to Unemployment:

It looks like the 1st seven weeks is a loss but I'm not sure.  Hard to understand. Does anyone else know for sure?

In answer to your question, you are not eligible for unemployment for the first seven weeks of the strike

Any truth to the wild rumor that Walcott and Union were working on a deal and almost closed it and talks were planned and would resume next week? Sure did make for good news....but as I said was a rumor.

Nahh ... doubt it very much. Walcott is just a puppet and can't do anything without Bloomy's hand up his ass.
