Thanks to all that are serving, have served and especially those that have paid the ultimate price and thanks to all of their families! Even with all the craziness and unfortunate things that have taken place in our Country over the years, we still have our Freedom and live in the Greatest Nation on Earth because of our Military Family!
Happy Memorial Day!!!
I know your intent but somehow I never feel "Happy" goes with "Memorial Day," if you know what I mean. No offense.
None taken. I thought about it before I posted. And up until recent years it was always "Happy." And bc of their sacrifice we all enjoy our Happy Freedom but the real reason I stayed with the Happy was my next door neighbor who served 22 years in the Army came out his door and wished me a "Happy Memorial Day" before I said a word to him.
Your neighbor is a truly fine American. I'm not saying "Happy" is wrong ... it has just always seemed awkward to say. I was surprised not to see any vets selling poppies this weekend ... at least at the stores I went to.
Me too! I didn't see one.
