So here it is 8am on Friday morning and still no news on what is going to happen for the up coming week. How can it be that everything at this company needs to be so last minute. Everywhere you look it states that schools will start to reopen on Monday Dec 7th. Can it really be that the BOE and Dumblasio have no clue what schools are opening if any.
If they know the schools that are potentially opening why not put it out there to the parents and bus companies SO WE CAN GET SOME GOOD NEWS FOR A CHANGE.

You surprised?

Hammer2161

Surprised definitely not.

FRUSTRATED MOST CERTAINLY!!!!

yabba

im sure sunday morning we will still have the same info as now...

Hammer2161

Yabba,
As true as that statement is how is it fair to us. This is ridiculous.

yabba

Sadly nothing is fair on this job anymore.   The old what can we do, is the new norm

Only those who need to know, know what is going on. Or those in that secret club know. If you don't belong or fit in that criteria, we just sit on the side line in desperation.

My opinion is that at this time Pioneer, our Reps and the DOE do not know exactly how many public and non public schools will be open this coming Monday. I would ASSUME that the majority of non public schools and elementary public schools that are not in an orange or red zone will be open Monday and those that are in those zones but have passed the State's guidelines (such as St. Pat's) will also be open. There's no secret club! Obviously Neil, just like us want all or as many runs to go out as possible! I don't think we will get any Official Notification until Sunday afternoon because from now to then the number of schools either reopening or even closing can change! And I'm sure as frustrating as it is, we all already know this!!!!

Do you guys really think that if THEY knew they wouldn't tell US?

I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

noone is saying that,at least i dont think...but the city should not expect us to be ready within hours after we have been thrown to the street... they should make sure they have their ducks in a row ...

Buzz

Yabba, you know the city doesn't give a shit about us. However, I imagine they don't really know where they stand either. Last minute notifications seem to be the norm now.

i cant believe mayor dumbo didnt address the orange zone schools and the opening...i would not be surprised if he pulls the plug on the whole reopening...

Buzz,
I am not saying they know and are refusing to tell us. But what I am saying is THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORKED OUT ALREADY ON THE BOE AND OPT END. We are a huge part of the engine that makes this whole fucking thing run. We deserve a little more respect than we are being shown. And as for not knowing that's bullshit all public schools have been closed since the 19th. There should be no surprise cases at this point.
Why not call it what is a FUCKING SHAM !!!!

It doesn't make a difference if all public schools have been closed since the 19th the elementary public schools that are in the orange zone have to pass the state guidelines just like the non-public schools any Anton have to.

Guess I'll get ready for another week to Netflix.....

I have been getting more information from the parents than from the company or the Union. According to the parents my school is still closed on Monday. It's a public school.

TheKid24

I'm gettin more information from other companies lmaooo....Hoyt is going in Monday-Wednesday, some will work if there schools are open while others do dry runs till Thursday

that makes sense  hopefully this is across the board...that way we are all ready to go,like in september

Hammer2161

Not looking for an argument but how is it companies like Hoyt and Reliant are already informing their workers about next week but over at Pioneer not a peep. Just doesn't make sense from where I am sitting. Pioneer has to account for at least 50 percent of the busing here on Staten Island. I would think it would be in the best interest of OPT and The BOE to inform us of what it looks like for Monday.

Buzz

Maybe where those companies work aren't orange zones. That may be complicating things.

Hammer2161

Possibly at this point Buzz anything is possible.

TheKid24

All I heard on the news just now was DeBlasio wants schools open on Monday, he's working with the state and it's not up for debate that they want kids 5 days a week but schools aren't prepared to do that they said.

I think the question also falls into play that buses will def 100 percent be over crowded, how do we handle that? Oh yeah no plan or email from pioneer or the union just yet.

LMAO

Just went on PS42 web site for any info .  statement from principal on December 2 ,  they will be full remote  December 7 while in orange zone but are still waiting for further instruction from the state !  Not looking to good !

Buzz

At this point it wouldn't be wise to go to 5 days a week. dB should realize that. Maybe he will if he ever comes out of his drug-induced stupor.

Hammer2161

He can say whatever he wants. Schools will only be allowed to go 5 days a week based on there enrollment. They still need to follow the guidelines and the 6ft of separation is going to restrict the schools that have more children showing up from going 5 days a week. Dumblasio can wish upon a star but reality is reality.

We had such a good rhythm going and this ass wants to screw things up as usual

Spoke to Anthony Friday and he stated to me that this coming week will be handled the same as this past week.  If their is a shortage of routes to be covered it will be handled the same way whereas senior members will work.  Whether their are 50-80%etc. to be covered that's the way it will be.  I pray we all work!

Hammer2161

Thanks Steady,
I think most if not all of us understood that to be the case. The only thing we can pray for now is that we all get back to work. Trying to keep the FAITH.
