What and/or who is the reason for this big financial jump with our health coverage?
Obamacare.

We just weren't the right union or corporation to get a free pass away from complying with ocare.
Obamacare was not the reason. Here are the words sent to us from 1181 Welfare Fund before 1/1/15.
Given the ever rising cost of health care, the Board had to carefully consider its options for 2015 so the Fund could continue to provide you with the generous, affordable health care coverage that the Fund has always provided to its participants. Below is a summary of changes adopted by the Board to accomplish this goal. The Board is very proud that the Fund is able to provide you with this generous coverage without having to apply deductibles and/or copays on in-network hospital stays (which is very common for most group health plans) Then it lists all the raises in our copays that we are all familiar with.
Yeah ... but Obamacare is the main reason for the rising costs!
Exactly Buzz...if more People are in the pool of insurance that automatically makes more claims. Especially people w pre existing conditions. That equals rising costs.
and lets not forget the personal that opted out
