Theyre going to spread out the runs i bet theyll need us to make a few trips instead of all the kids being on the bus at the same time. I just hope we will get our situation under control before we have to go back...

Bump that hourly salary up hahaha... I think it will be m-t one group, wed off, t-f the 2nd group. The custodians will have to clean between each group of kids. Or cohorts as they're calling them. Either that or 1 group one week and the others remote, then switch for the following week. It will be one or the other I think
As far a runs maybe assign two busses to 1 run? Group A and Group B or hire more drivers

When ever schools reopen if the City doesn't start paying the contractors at least two months before, all this discussion and different ideas about split times or days really is going to mean anything as far as the school buses are concerned. Reason being most of the companies won't have enough buses to cover the runs.
Example: Pioneer's mechanics stopped working May 31st. which means no buses have been or will be DOT'd during the months of June, July & August. So if school resumes in September and the mechanics don't go back to work until September we will probably have 50 to 100 buses that legally can not go out on the road. I don't think (and I could be wrong) that the State is going to waive or extend and allow school buses on the road because of the liability until they are DOT'd.

They could look the other way till they get inspected. My father told me when he worked for Atlantic Express his yard had no buses due to the damage of Sandy, they got buses from Philly that had no
Plates, no stickers or anything lol so if need be they might look the other way and extend the dates for
The buses to be inspected given their will be a huge demand in transportation BUT we shall see what they expect and what pioneer does as a company to protect their drivers.
I doubt anyone will look the other way including our Union for our safety & the safety of the children and any other vehicle or pedestrian or animal or property on the road. God forbid a bus that was not inspected gets into an accident and someone is killed and during the investigation it's found that the bus had faulty brakes.
