Little doubt that a law allowing the use of speed cameras will pass. While I agree with it in principle, it's easy to stray 5 or 6 miles over the limit without even realizing it. At least with the red-light cameras you know the light is going to change. While drivers should have to pay the fine, I don't think disciplinary action should apply, nor should it go on your record, for violations less than 10 m.p.h. over the limit and I hope our union will take a strong stance in this regard once this becomes law.
