According to an article in yesterdays Advance UAU is training people up to age 24 to get class B CDLs and Pioneer is one of the hiring partners. In case youj can't read the whole article, here's the take away:
"Funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), Train & Earn provides young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 with vocational training, internships, and connections to local employers. We worked with our partners at CDL Auto Club to provide participants with the training they needed to help them earn a Class B Commercial Driver's License. We also secured employer partnerships with local transportation companies, including the MTA, Pioneer Transportation, and Cream-O-Land. As part of Train & Earn, UAU covers the cost of all training, licensing, and job preparation activities, and provides each participant with a training stipend."
Also:
"Each partner pays entry-level employees between $24 and $27 per hour with full health and retirement benefits."
I guess they haven't read our latest contract. ;D ;D ;D ;D

With the people (20?) retiring over the summer we might be down even more than that!
Don't you have to be 21 to drive a school bus and even have a CDL?
