Christmas break was originally scheduled to begin on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24. Today I found out it was changed to begin on Monday, Dec. 23 ... which makes a lot more sense!
It's official ... https://www.schools.nyc.gov/calendar/contentdetails/2024/12/23/default-calendar/winter-recess-schools-closed
This is for public schools only. Check the monitors the week before the break for non-public school closings.
Just came across the back-story ... https://www.amny.com/news/nyc-public-schools-extra-december-day-off/?fbclid=IwY2xjawGPs5dleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHf5AZTZFPrF39330mz-Kmj9kLOGLjoOm2rn8t4KMYejYwmppNSWu31hPnw_aem_br2xJtIEH-Yza8S4tlaimw
Thanks, kid!!
Aren't they making the year end on Friday the 27th now and using that post day at the end ?
Said before it could be approved they needed the unions approval. That's strong 💪

No.
"Officials said New York State's 180-day school year requirement will still be met even with the additional day off." The last day of school was, and still is, June 26 and the calendar has been updated accordingly >>> https://cdn-blob-prd.azureedge.net/prd-pws/docs/default-source/default-document-library/school-year-2024-25-calendar-updated.pdf?sfvrsn=8066a17e_2
