Please note: My error. This recording was from a meeting the night BEFORE the PEP meeting of the Pupil Transportation Advisory Commission Public Hearing
Neil was also at last night's meeting but not Tomas. Sorry for the confusion,
Tomas Fret speaks at the 40:52 mark, Neil Strahl at 43:08

I thought Neil made a very good presentation.
But it's funny how things change. Twelve or thirteen years ago we went on strike (dumb decision) because bids were going out without the EPP. Now we're going to be furloughed ... laid off ... terminated ... or whatever you want to call it ... because they don't want bids to go out with it, aside from legacy companies. (Which is what the PEP is insisting upon.)
We're all just pawns in rich men's games ... but then again, a poor man never gave me a job.
What Neil did to us after the strike I will never forget or forgive.
So if and when his "lockout" happens we would be on unemployment till a new contract is signed between the city and the companies? And when that happens do we continue with our current contract that we have with the company as well as our benefits kicking back in once we return?

This will not (or
should not} affect our contract in any way. So benefits and every thing will (or
should) stay the same.
Anyone know what happened at last night's PEP meeting
I heard that they got a three year contract
Does anybody have confirmation of that?

I heard the same thing on the radio driving in to work this morning.
I got the confirmation apparently it's a done deal and also it expires the summer of 2028 which I believe is also when our contract with Pioneer expires. There should be some interesting negotiations going on before each of the contracts expire!
Must have been all those VIA Log ins yesterday that sealed the deal.....
Good news to hear
