Title: To the Newer Drivers Out There
Post by: Buzz on November 23, 2025, 01:37:01 AM

Some of you are apparently unaware of an "old-tyme," unwritten rule of the road for CDL drivers whether it be truck or bus.

If an oncoming vehicle flashes their bright lights at you it means they are giving you the right-of-way. Whether it's to make a left turn in front of them, to pull out of a street or driveway, to tell you it's okay to change lanes in front of them on the highway or whatever.

They are yielding to you! They are telling you to go first, they are letting you go ahead of themselves. Capeesh?

School buses show their gratitude by turning on their flashing yellows for a couple of seconds. MTA buses will flash their 4-ways to say thank you and tractor-trailers will either do that or flash their marker lights to acknowledge the courtesy.

I thought this was common knowledge, but not so. Take it from me! I'm semi-professional! :rotfl:

Always remember when lifting heavy objects use your back not your legs  :))
