Title: No New Buses In The Near Future
Post by: Buzz on January 04, 2026, 03:30:27 PM

I'm sure you notice that Pioneer hasn't been buying new buses lately. You can thank the state's woke congress for having passed a law a couple of years ago that all new bus purchases must be electric come 2027. Additionally. the entire fleet must be electric by 2035.

It wouldn't make sensed for the company to buy a new bus now that it knows it will only be able to use for 10 years while they get many more years out of a bus ... as you know.

Of course this goal in not sustainable and I can't see how it will be realized come next year but it does have to be taken into consideration for the time being.

Meanwhile, parents complain that the heat on electric buses is not very good >>> https://www.wivb.com/news/local-news/erie-county/parents-raise-concerns-over-heat-issues-in-electric-school-buses-in-lake-shore-central-school-district/
