The bids that were originally scheduled to be due May 12 have been POSTPONED until August 1. This is a very strong indication that the EPP is definitely in play.
Further, deBlasio has let Como know that he is on board with the EPP. If something were to come down from Albany on this it would be the best of all scenarios. (But of course, it can be accomplished even without Como's blessing.)
Apparently, things have been going on behind the scenes that are too sensitive to make general knowledge or that might even been hampered by publicity at this point. I don't care how we get there, as long as we eventually do.
We have reason to be very hopeful ... not giddy ... but hopeful.
Thanks Buzz, it's very good news and we need that.
Buzz you got the date wrong ATU 1181 website has Aug.1 not Aug. 31.

Yes, it's the 1st. Correction has been made. Thank you.
Good news Buzz! and I thought the article about the e.p.p in this weeks chief seemed to have a positive light also!
Hey buzz do you think a buyout will be offered, it will still be in neils best interest. Bids now are coming out in August. I hate to see some of these seniors go at any price they are good hard workers and are Loyal to our union. Neil should put it out there just to see how many will go. And I think it it a nice thing to do anyway for them. Hate to move up the ladder that way but it is up better then down and out.

There would be no advantage to Neil to buy out senior guys and only have to replace the with senior guys from the master list. I don't think you'll see a buy-out for a long time ... until everybody is back to work and "new" guys can actually be hired.
