Glad to hear we have a potential contract. Hopefully enough has been done to rectify a lot of what was done wrong since the strike in 2013. If we are being honest this contract needs to benefit the people hired since 2013 for this industry to survive and hopefully thrive going forward. Kudos to 1181 and the owners for working together to hopefully put forward a contract we all will be happy with. Now all we need to do is ratify it and move forward.

By no means am I encouraging or pushing for a strike simply because I think we can all agree that neither side truly wins when a strike happens.
I do agree with Proud Member that if we do choose to strike it potentially will be for a substantial amount of time. But on the other side I do not feel that the owners are taking us very seriously. I wish I was wrong but it doesn't seem we are any closer to a new contract now than we were in June.
Let's hope we get this resolved by Wednesday so that we can potentially avoid a strike.

Unfortunately 1181 allowed them to divide us as individuals with the multitude of different contracts depending on when you were hired and as companies under the 1181 banner because all contracts are not the same from company to company. The owners are well aware that 1181 is not very strong and even though a strike vote was approved unanimously they are very reluctant to strike.
But the reality is as long as we the workers continue to cover the work that is not assigned to anyone we are further helping the owners to get richer.
If our greed as individuals over shadows the obvious problems we are facing to get a fair contract going forward then all our efforts are doomed.
We need to hurt the owners in their POCKETS that is the only language I think they understand.
Also we as a union need to address the fact that the 700 or so drivers we are short throughout the industry is also money not going into our pension or health fund. And that may be a bigger problem than we realize going forward.

I have voted on both sides of the aisle as well. As far as evil I think we have an even share of that on both side of the so called aisle. Not sure what it is but it seems that both McConnell and Pelosi are more interested in what's important to them then they are their respective constituents. I also believe we need a system of checks and balances and I am somewhat concerned that the Democrats now control everything. I am hoping for the best as I would hope everyone else is.

The Keystone Pipeline was going right through an Indian reservation destroying both their land and their water supply. So all though it created jobs it was at the cost of people's lands homes and lives. As far as the border wall goes sorry but I was never a fan. Not truly a Biden fan I consider myself more of an independent. But yes for this election I was mostly because my daughter worked on both his campaign and his inauguration. Something I am very proud of.

So let me get this straight in the 3 days since Biden has been sworn in he is already responsible for the price of gasoline going up which has been happening since before the holidays. Thousands of lost jobs I guess no one had lost their job since the beginning of this pandemic. No vaccine plan that's a joke but we will see how that plays out. Oh yeah and he somehow managed to increase your federal and state tax rates and have it effective immediately.  I guess the out going president is not responsible for any of that. Thanks for keeping me amused.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

The questions pertain to how you are feeling if you have been exposed to covid 19 and such. That is why it's the day of. Because they encourage you to reschedule if you answer any of the questions opposite of the answer they want.

You should get an email the morning of the day you are scheduled. The link takes you to vaccinepod site and you have to sign in and just answer the questions. Once finished you will receive another email with the QR code.

Buzz when are you scheduled to get the shot ?

I don't believe that the additional questions you need to answer are available on the vaccinepod site until the morning of the day you are scheduled to receive the vaccination.

Faceit , they didn't ask for the QR code but if you want to be sure log in to the Vaccinepod site that's where the additional questions are. After you answer them they will send you another email with the QR code.

All they asked for was your ID number and your drivers license. I suggest bringing your OPT card and a pay stub just in case.

Buzz, I had an appointment at Port Richmond HS yesterday and yes the wait was two hours or better. They did apologize and stated the reason for the delay was the inability to get the computer side of the process up and running for almost two hours along with it being the first day for the site being open. I also think part of the problem was their kindness towards the elderly. They were showing up early and playing the game saying they couldn't stand and they needed to sit. So then they were brought inside and eventually they jumped the line and got their shot long before their appointed time. And trust me there were plenty of them that played the game. But most people that were on that line waited for their appointed time to be called. I got there 3:15 for a 3:30 appointment and my time was not called till around 5:40. Hopefully it gets better.

Buzz have some faith man lol. But seriously anyone making there appointment through that site is getting the same email about the morning of the day they are supposed to get the vaccine. I think getting an appointment through that site is more positive than calling someplace directly.

I heard this morning that in Jersey they were given 650 thousand doses and less than half have made into people's arms. I think once it's truly up and running the problems will become much less than they are now.

I just got an appointment at Port Richmond HS for Saturday.

They will make your second appointment when you get your first shot.
