New York State will be giving undocumented workers over 15,000 dollars. The best part is , if they cannot prove employment , they get a consolation prize of 3,000 dollars. Florida is looking better by the day.

Just received email. Three more weeks to be paid by 9/25.

They are correcting the system to recognize missed weeks due to opening new books. They will see who received less than 3 payments and should correct it. I was told it may take a week or two.

If the teachers force another postponement, are we still on the payroll? Are we under our contract now that we started? Are we employed or per diem at the mercy of the city and the company? Are we under 39 guaranteed weeks?

The website says the 300 will start the week of 9/14. Hopefully we will still get the previous weeks. We won't be claiming the week of 9/14.

President Trump extended the Federal unemployment (400 dollars)through executive order today. Payroll tax cut will also help when we go back to work.

Ohio and Maryland both closed all schools to slow the spread of the virus. Our wonderful leader says our schools cannot be closed because of child care and food. But he declared a State of emergency and said it may last 6 months. I guess the health of bus drivers and teachers are of no concern. I guess we are the only ones immune to catching a potentially deadly virus that has closed all major venues. Schools don't fall under the gathering of more than 500 people mandate.

Is the Union going to get involved to tell the Board of Ed about the corona virus risks to drivers? We are doing field trips with parents on the buses who we have no idea about their prior travels. And the kids are interacting with parents and kids from other boroughs and States. Sounds like common sense to end trips and keep the kids in their sanitized schools.

The city is disinfecting MTA buses, subways and schools. I guess our buses are not their concern. We are probably in the most confined area out of them all. And still allowing field trips. Go figure.

Public schools will be open Friday, January 5. All field trips requiring yellow buses will be cancelled. All other programs and activities will be held as scheduled.

No pay for Good Friday for people who worked. Not even extra 4 hrs. Wow.

 Pioneer driver Robert Schell passed away on 11/25. Worked bus 1125 last year. I believe the wake is being held at Bedell-Pizzo in Tottenville.
