I'm reading a raise to minimum wage to  $17.00 in the new NYS budget over the next two years. Also hearing further raises will be tied to inflation . Hochul said "NYers aren't taking care of their family  (with low wages )" looks like everyone is getting increases . Good for negotiations . I heard that term before in a contract that get raises tied to inflation 🤔

       

With all that winds and polar vortex I'm hearing Field Trips aren't being covered . Seems like some of the new guys don't want to cover . If that's the case and there is blowback why not just go back to selling off trips ? 

Contract negotiations would get real interesting if NYC stakes this vote and makes minimum wage jump yet again. Progressive policies aren't helping one side and making it really easy for the underdogs !

I did see a bus go through the wash a few minutes ago. To be accurate inline CNN it was a mechanic driving the bus , didn't seem to have soap and another mechanic was watching . Maybe it will be open soon .....

It's now I believe 3 different areas that have added 5 dollars or more to seduce more people to become school bus drivers . It can't be ignored . Hope this works it's way to us

I heard from an Atlantic Express driver that the boss imposed his will, scared workers and forced a vote on his new terms of paying more into medical (I think about a hundred a week he said) . This driver also said his contract(AE) was good till 2015. I know what's going on....still unreal how all this is happening. What a joke these contractors are. They have no respect for our rights or what we generate for them as drivers. I hopenone day someone hands them the $ hit they are giving us. Karma.

It was nice to hear Owen come out of the office on the last day of work saying he "understands what we as drivers go through and that we are the backbone of the company." Nice to get some recognition and appreciation.

The teacher that was fired over sensitive remarks about students posted on Facebook has won an appellate ruling 5-0. Christine Rubino will be reinstated june 10 and can now sue the city for back pay. Another wasted lawyer venture by the city and Bloomy.

Should get greedy and cut the contractors checks by 7.5%  I am serious, dont tell me the contractors have a contract. The city and contractors both don care about contracts, past practice or past prescedence ...none not a lick they are both in cahoots!

I called up my car leasing company to arrange for my car to be given to me without payment and this is what happened.
    Me: hello....I am looking to have my payments suspended because they are too costly as im making less then before and cost of living is rising.
    Dealer: well you have 7 more payments and you can then trade it in or buy it outright.
    Me: no your missing my point...I do not respect this price, its now an inconvenience and costly to my standard of living. I refuse to pay it and I have legal ground by which I can stand on.
     Dealer: sir I dont follow your complaint, your asking to keep a car and not pay for it...is that what you are saying ?
      Me: listen....I dont want to waste your time here is my bosses phone number ask for Neil. Let him explain to you why I dont have to honor what I dont like yet continue to use that very same service. Just please call after april 3rd thats when he will be back from vacation. You may think this is crazy but if he is doing this to hundreds of workers.  :bomb:y

This morning I can see that what we were told was outright propaganda. Union reps were told many times...."end the strike , come back to work,you are safe for two years". No we arent safe. That was a LIE. Another corporate attack on the worker. Plain and simple. And hell NO...we are not in this together. Clearly you have not a clue what it is to struggle and make ends meet. I respectfully disagree.
