Subject: Letter Dated 12-14-10 and Notice Dated 05-08-11
First I would like to address the letter purportedly sent to Larry Hanley, at Amalgamated Transit Union and Cc'ed to The FBI the NYS Dept of Labor, the NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles, (I venture to add GOD probably got a copy although the "sender" "Paul Salerno" was careful not to include that in his Cc: for fear he might offend those atheists he fears might be in the group). My name was mentioned in a most disparaging way that tried to lead the reader to conclude I am less than the professional Safety Instructor that I strive to be. Every day, in every way, I try to show those with whom I interact I am the BEST at what I do, and my confidence comes from the fact that my record stands for itself.
Almost five months after this letter was mailed a "disclaimer" was carelessly (not carefully) distributed among the "rank & file" of Local 1181, Signed by Thomas Salerno the brother of the "sender" of the original letter "Paul Salerno". In Thomas' memo signed by him and stating"THE SALERNO SLATE" ATU/1181 MEMBER ". Thomas strongly denies the letter was sent by him and has in fact confided to many 1181 members he is sure his brother Paul has absolutely nothing to do with the original letter.
In my heart of hearts, I never though one of my own Union Brothers would go to such length to pour scorn on another Union Member. I feel it would be incredulous to think that this unsolicited humiliation of my unblemished career might have been set in motion for the mundane purpose of procuring a position within the hierarchy of our benevolent Local 1181.
The only other thing I need to address is MY NAME is MINE. I am PROUD of who I am, and I will never let any action or reaction I may take tarnish MY NAME.
So, be advised, I WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TARNISH MY NAME.
P.S. This is all due to the fact I would not run on THE SALERNO SLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
