I was informed that our new hourly rate will NOT be reflected in this week's paycheck. Next week? We'll see.

Now, what are the chances that we will see our retro next week ... which will be the 3rd pay period following ratification ... as stipulated in our contract? Time will tell but I wouldn't bet on it.

Been having a Thomas spare bus for the past few weeks. Not very familiar with them before this always having had an International ... kind of like the Thomas buses, (except for the fact that many of them rain inside the windshield),  but I heard we're not getting them again. (Too expensive.)

Anyway, this idiot has no idea what the idiot light circled in the picture is for. Doesn't seem to change and I don't know what the little arrow is pointing to. ( I know it's not DEF.)

So today only Sharrotts  had a yard inspection ... ALL runs. Looks like they're splitting it up by yard rather than odd and even run numbers. Assuming they'll do the same with Arthur Kill.

Don't know the back story yet but this pic was on Facebook. That's Ernie's restaurant in Mt. Airy, NC ... the town the set of the Andy Griffith show was modeled after. Ernie looks great!!

As you probably know, our raises are retroactive to last July 1. We're supposed to get that on the 3rd payday following ratification, which was yesterday.

So I figure ... very roughly ... we've worked about 12 weeks so far, 480 hours. Multiply that by the hourly increase and it's a tidy sum. For those at top pay I figure nearly $700.

And one of our more astute members questioned one of the delegates about the hour overtime pay for those with late outs ... which, according to the delegate ... is also supposed to be retro. Our always-thinking member calculates roughly that 12 weeks time 4 days ... 4 hours per week ... 48 hours total ... at a pay rate of $25/hour, would yield $1200. (And that's in addition to their hourly increase.)

So just over 89% voted Yes in both yards.

Hoyt doesn't vote until tomorrow. John will call me with the union over-all tally tomorrow afternoon.

Well tomorrow is the day we've awaited for over 2 months. We finally get to find out the provisions of the contract we'll be working under for the next 5 years. Hope it's all it's been hyped up to be.
