I would file tomorow stating we haven't returned to work full time.  Then next Sunday, the 24th, state we worked 3 days and have returned to work full time.  Just in case . . . .

Yes, actually that's what I was thinking, but if we get paid for the week I think we should say we worked 5. Agree?

OK ... so now what do we do about unemployment? How do we let them know we're back to work ... claim this week and indicate we've returned to work? We actually haven't yet. Don't want any unpleasant surprises Easter week. Anybody?

Did u get the local check yesterday ? YES ? International ? NO ? DO I Really have to say anymore ?

So .... that would be 2 weeks for the International and 1 for the local, right?

Also, I think the local actually owes us 1 week and 2 days, no? (Believe the week starts on Thursday.)

Andy certainly did more than his share, especially while Ernie was out sick. Can't have more respect or appreciation for either of these guys than I already do, but the past month just reaffirms why I regard them in highest esteem. They gave it their all. Nobody could have done more ... or a better job.

And by the way, though he was less visible out of necessity, Eddie put in many long days, not only with strike issues, but while also conducting other union business that didn't stop because of the strike. The same could be said for Michael and the other executive board members. Larry Hanley's attention to this strike and his guidance were invaluable. I think the timely end of the strike was proper and respectable with reason for a lot of optimism for the future.

Now they'll know what it feels like, and maybe think twice before they try to take someone else's job.

And, thank you, Ern. We know it's not uncommon for you to put in 12 - 14 hour days, but the 16-18 hours you put in each day of the strike that your were able took a toll on your health. But you're like a machine and you can't keep a good man down. Have a good rest over the next 4 days so you can come back full strength ... you know you'll need it!!

Quote from: Numbers on February 16, 2013, 01:01:05 AMHey Buzz, the local still owes us 150 for this week & the international owes 300. They we're both a week behind. :wink_cheesy:

Wait a minute ... if they're both a week behind, how can they owe us different amounts?

(Sheesh! And I trust you with my money?!!!  ;D )

Was anything accomplished other than back to work for a pay check at this time ?

Yes, much. We had to take a stand and we did. As Michael said, the strike brought the EPP to the forefront and elicited the support of parent groups, politicians, and other unions. The union recognized (as yours truly has been saying) that it was futile trying to work with Bloomberg and is moving the war to another battleground ... which can be done while we are back at work. But we will be doing so with support and momentum that would not have been built up had we not gone out at all.

Good call, Michael!!!

Well, Larry said we will get paid the international money, I have to assume the local will do so as well.
