Buzz all i am saying is he had to have this bid in as you said . I can't see overages like all the Holidays added that it's a loss for him. Again not saying he's stealing or improperly billing . Isn't fair to him either that all these days popped up. Again if it isn't built in he's taking it as a loss ? hmmm 🤔 PS in effect didn't these Holidays expand the school year cause of the additional time off ?

Not so. He does not automatically get paid for every run that's on the books. If a run doesn't go out ... for any reason ... he does not bill them for that run for that day so he doesn't get paid. To do otherwise would amount to stealing and there's no way he's going to take that chance getting caught (which he would eventually) with the city.

   Buzz to be clear, I'm not implying stealing . I'm simply stating as having a very large company it would be wise on his part to get paid from first day of school to last day of school. I'm going to go even further HIM like US its not our fault the City added Holidays that just needed observance . So on the reverse side he's paying guys guaranteed weeks that aren't in the "12 step " program out of his pocket ? He paid to guys the Chinese  new year out of pocket too? the muslim holidays ? im gonna disagree on that. If he does Kudos to him . Until then I don't believe it

   💯 percent . I don't begrudge the owner and his responsibility. Can't be easy managing so much in this day and age . But cmon , you had your run the last few years just push it back . You can't get drivers . You think an extension is going to help "as is " the shortages are everywhere....

Again . There needs to be language in there . Cause no doubt he got paid but withheld your pay. Tell me how that makes any sense ? Monday is Juneteenth ? Although we get a 4 hour layup for training (which no other place is open and would train on ) we train on a holiday and if your contract isn't guaranteed at the top you don't get the day. That was added so you get the off day but no pay ? Makes perfect sense .....

If you notice the teachers union covers all the politicians and oils every squeak. You would think as kids struggle overall from lack of in person learning ( from Covid) they would be in the boat we are  in. Instead they get a deal, that covered all they wanted , they gave back nothing and their leadership at the union didn't even spike the ball. They look at it as Routine and I'm sure getting ready for the next contract .

      The key is taking care of the "12 apostles at the last Dinner" . It's absurd that contract even the birds don't wanna $hit on it in  their cages .....

Afraid of the unknown(the 219)  and Stockholm syndrome for the owners.....bad combination when every union is doing well with new contracts or straight cleaning up

It comes down to the majority here under the old legacy and the new people want better . At least that's the way it seems to people I talk to. The sooner we say we all want that one contract and 40 week guarantee.
       I'm not for a strike , I did vote yes but there simply is no option. If we voted no strike your simply taking it in the shirts waving the white flag.
        What's going on at this place isn't the exception it's the norm. Not just local, not regionally BUT nationally . Owners know it. They want the union and membership to blink. Stare right back . Look at the big picture . We are all in this together !!!
       PS. Notice how I didn't shoot at the legacy guys, don't single out the new guys . It's all one . That contract with 12 different ways to Siberia was and is a farce . Just like election night people watch results come in and the Networks poll how one group voted or another group voted , all divisive topics. Everyone here wants better for themselves and family regardless of their age , if the MTA is hiring or how much etc etc. the sooner we stop falling for the claptrap and uniting fully , the better !!!!

Look we can have an honest conversation and I agree it won't . That's what's holding is back . Again go on offense . We aren't helping ourselves we are hurting ourselves , "Penny wise Dollar Foolish ".

You know last time the strike was against en entity other than the owners. However that didn't stop a weakened union that was beaten down and broken Solidarity to prompt the greedy owners from smiling and showing their fangs . Honestly if that's what they want the. Maybe we go on offense . I'm tired of playing defense and seemingly like we are running . I do extra work . Maybe we should stop covering the extra work and let him see what life is like . I don't know the implications but enough is enough.  Look how much they make when we cover runs for just an hourly rate . No taxes, pension , medical etc . Don't have to be an accountant for the big 3 to see the green profits off our backs .

Just wondering if NYCSbus knows and actively pays extra to recruit cause they know the starting salary and all the other levels are dog 💩

Slowbus there starting salary is more then ours ???
