Will this be effecting us?? from the Advance...

"School districts across New York state with a spring break planned for the beginning of April must cancel the break and continue to provide remote instruction during those days, according to guidance released by the New York State Education Department. Spring break for New York City public schools is scheduled for April 9-17."

Good question. Until the DOE determines how this affects NYC, as the DOE spokeswoman said in the article, Ernie won't be able to get an answer.

This is the article Eucerin is referring to ...

I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

I would only say that the State Education Dep't. has never had to deal with the likes of NYC's teacher's union ... LOL.

This isn't Fishs Eddy School District.  ;D

Obviously we all knew that we weren't going back to work on April 20th. Well now it's official that Schools will be definitely closed until at least April 30t. So I'm hoping that we will get an answer to our pay and medical benefits before the 20th since it's official now.

I have not found any official report extending school closings by 2 weeks to April 30 .  I saw the Governor made a statement extending closings 2 weeks based on his decision that he made for April 1st opening.  If I'm in error please post.

I don't recall where I read it but if the governor is telling us that April 30th is the projected peak of this virus in New York and the president is telling us that April 30 is the extended quarantine date then obviously school will not open before April 30.

yabba

if anything opens it wont be till may 1st... and at that point it will probably be small increments of opening..... i think sept will be the best bet at this point to see schools opening...thngs are bad

Agreed! They're just putting off announcing the inevitable,so they don't have to hear the pushback from all sides.Looks like September at this point.
