Unbelievable and now it will all fall like dominos..

Soooo does anyone know what it says in this contract "IF" the schools go to full remote? Do they have the money to pay us at 85-100 percent for the rest of the year or they gonna cut us loose again back on unemployment with no benefits again

Wig I believe under the new contract health benefits and pension are protected. Unfortunately though I think if everything shuts down we are back on unemployment.

I'm mostly concerned with this being a Pensionable year ! I don't want to stay an extra year because of this ! I'd rather work every day !

Did I hear Carmine say on the radio that St. Dorothy's is open or am I hallucinating?

I assume as long as we make up our contribution for the year (if necessary) ... as we are doing for May and June, that it would count toward the pension.

I had suggested that we should waive ordering uniforms and put that money toward what we owe in pension contribution for last May and June. We never ordered uniforms last spring.  No one seems interested in this idea.  Neil I think is contractually obligated to us for our $75.  Why should he keep it. Again I'm speaking of uniforms we never ordered last May or June

Buzz , I was under the impression that we had to get 1000 hours in each year to make it a pensionable year. I hope you're right though . I know last school year counted as a pensionable year because we were carried on the Payroll until the end April . We usually reach our 1000 hours mid March .  This year I'm guessing mid April because we started the year a month late ..

The 1000 hours was before COVID-19. Can't answer with absolute certainty, but IF both employee and employer contributions are made for the year, it will most likely be considered a pensionable year.

Buzz , I sure hope that's the case ! As they say "From your mouth to Gods Ears !"
