Probably got scared and didn't realize that he/she could be tracked and figured could get back on Island before anyone found out.

I believe they eventually got in touch with the driver via the matron's cell phone. Don't know if she knew the route.

I guess the company will get billed by mail for the toll. Without EZPass I believe it's $27 ... which will probably be deducted from her pay.
