My daughter lives in DC and she got a similar email. Had her contact the unemployment office down there and they told her that they were unaware of any such email and not to even open it if she hadn't already. They further instructed her not to provide any information at all. So maybe you should try contacting unemployment here first before responding.

My advice to anyone who might think their schools are closed is be sure to report to work and get that information from the horses mouth. Seems Pioneer is not being full up front as far as paying drivers.
I know drivers and matrons that worked Monday of the week everyone was furloughed and then furloughed themselves were told they would be paid for the week as per our contract. Well low and be hold when they got their checks this past Friday they were only paid for one day.
So please be very careful and let Pioneer give you any information regarding closures, as drivers and matrons we are going through tough enough times we truly don't need not to be paid because of a technicality.

I think New Dorp Christian Academy is closed till January 16th 2021. I think that is absurd but the lack of leadership from anyone at the BOE is truly troubling.

Yeah because the new lab will allow him to close schools and not be the bad guy.

Right now Mitch McConnell has to much power and he is flexing his muscles in lieu of the fact that he could lose control of the senate on January 5th.

Both sides need to stop worrying about their own political agendas and start worrying about what we need as individuals and as a country. As a whole the country is to divisive and that needs to be addressed and right now it's our government that is failing us. They can say the unemployment numbers have dropped but is that because people found work or because their unemployment ran out and they just simply are not working or collecting.

Your a big boy so do as you wish but someone did that yesterday and was sent home for not showing up in the am.

This has gone past ridiculous at this point. This is a total lack of consideration for people that they will need come 7am tomorrow morning to get these kids to school.
I am tired of pointing the finger because as we found out after this past weekends debacle we unfortunately are unable to trust anyone at this point.
These drivers and matrons have families they need to provide for and possibly even arrange care for tomorrow. A little fucking decency would go a long way at this point.

I spoke with the shop stewards before I headed home today, they are aware of the schools opening in the orange zones on Wednesday but the company had not received a final list as of 3pm this afternoon. But on a good note I spoke with my neighbor who teaches at PS8 and she has already been notified to be at work Wednesday morning. And yes they are in the orange zone.
Hopefully everyone gets back on Wednesday.

I would have to think if all orange zone schools are allowed to open on Wednesday even excluding junior high and high school that almost everyone if not everyone will be working.

The bigger question is why they failed to use the volunteer list that was established the week before. It was my understanding along with plenty of other people that that list would be in effect until everyone returned to work.

I am going to say 5:00 pm a little birdie told me the hammer and chisel broke while they were etching it in stone. They had to call a delay of game while they ran to Home Depot.
