So....why did we lose our benefits...the insurance we have/had was the best...need out of network drs. Its going to be a big problem. The cobra is what i would have gotten but its almost 2k a month for family.  They mark up 102%....

Did you see my other post "FREE Medical Coverage?" People are actually getting it for free.

However, this is not for people living in NJ unless you see NY doctors and have a NY address you can use for the paperwork. (I know one driver from Jersey who did just that.)
I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

Picking a health 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣 for urself and/or family is entirely up to you. As I stated I suggest speaking with Ashley (929-255-0238) or one of our co-workers before you make a decision. Even after speaking with her no matter how good it sounds and is it is still ur CHOICE. Also I am far from an expert on health insurance plans but I've been researching and after reading some posts on different sites and actually speaking with different Members I BELIEVE people are either confusing COBRA with an insurance plan called COBA or do not understand what COBRA is.
COBRA is a health insurance PROGRAM that allows you to keep the same exact health PLAN from the same exact health insurance company (in Pioneer's case for sure - BC/BS) that you had while working. Only difference is instead of your employer paying the overwhelming majority of the monthly premium is that now besides paying your monthly (or weekly amount) premium,  you will pay both ur share & the employer's share. I also believe you have 60 days to enroll in Cobra but it has to be retroactive to the day you lost your coverage. I also believe it is good for 18 months. All employees (at least from Pioneer) should receive something from Cobra within the next 10 days. If you are interested in Cobra and do not receive something by May 22nd, I would advise calling.

All true.  But the price for COBRA costs alot more than it costs employer and employee combined...the best coverage by far just not affordable for me.  When i called the welfare office they quoted me almost 2k per month for family coverage...when its a large group like ours the premiums are a fraction of what the COBRA rates are.

Get out ur contract and take a look at what Neil pays for each one of us. It's far from a fraction.

I took a picture of the last MOA agreement dated July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2018. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to post it here. Section 2 which is 2 1/2 pages shows in detail what Neil & the employees each pay into the Welfare Fund and that's not today's cost. See if you have it.
