It seems OPT has changed eligibility requirements for yellow bus. Grades 7-12 MetroCard only ... and possibly MetroCard for some K-6 graders! Unreal!

I'm wondering how many more parents might have registered for 100% remote learning if they had known their kids would all of a sudden not be eligible for yellow bus service.

wheresmymoney!

By making kids take MTA bus theyre just looking for them to get covid by not having them in controlled environment

This will appear as less demand for General Ed bussing...

Looks like the BOE is going back to a system I grew up in. K-5 had bus service and when you got to jr. high you got a bus pass.

Remember some years ago they kicked grades 7 and 8 off the buses? Thought we won that battle ... LOL.

I guess this seemed the best way to reduce ridership to promote social distancing (I've grown to hate that term). Still think there has to be many more special ed runs to allow for the same.

Buzz if you click on eligibility for school bus it states K-6 only.
Also last I heard somewhere around 23 % of parents elected for in home schooling.

Yes, I know. And depending on the distance from the school It says "School Bus or MetroCard."
