COVID Rates in City Look Good for Next Week

7-day average as of yesterday only 4.8%. One region in the state is nearly double that. If the city remains low but the state goes over 9%, will Cuomo close schools here? That is the question.

Barring that, we should be good for the week of the 4th ... but then 20% get tested in schools. Likely the following week will see a number of school closings.

2021 is going to pick up right where 2020 left off. Ugh!

LOL ... good one!

Oh ... you were serious.   ;D ;D ;D

Doubt we'd get them before teachers ... if they do.

People are finally listening. Crowds are getting smaller.

I read that there were 272 elementary school buildings closed on Dec. 23 (including Pre-K). There is more than one school in some buildings so the number of closed schools would be closer to 300. The infection rate was below 5%.

With the rate at about 10% I'd have to assume that number will easily double within the next week or two. Let's hope neither one of the 2 morons running the show doesn't don't shut the whole system down.

Fortunately the high rate didn't stop de Bongo and his lovely ;D  wife from dancing in Times Square on New Year's Eve. This guy is so out of touch with reality thanks to his fondness of that Maui Wowie.

Honestly I don't think the school system will shut down as a whole because "the science" shows It doesn't spread in the schools and parents don't want their kids learning from home.
The reason why all these schools shut down is because they did that 20 percent testing protocol

from my friends with kids that i speak with,it has to do more with the kids not being in school steady...some going in for a day or 2 then going remote ,due to the school closing for 1-10 days at a time..

Oh, I agree with you. But the science shows that the rate is about as low in restaurants as it is in schools but that doesn't always matter to dB and Cuhomo.
