Ernie's looking to hire drivers for Staten Island. Must have CDL with S endorsement. If you have friends or family that want to work here, send them to see Ernie.
I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

I'm I correct in assuming that the Master List for Drivers is completely depleted?

Maybe it is a sign that a contract is closer. Why would new drivers be hired under the current structure of our contract? Especially if they are
friends or family.

Yes, as of today.

I hope I'm wrong but unfortunately I think you're reading to much into it. Apparently we need drivers and I'm sure regardless if they're friends & family they are going to be hired under the "New Hire" part of our current contract. Which by the way would not only be beneficial to Neil but in the long run beneficial to most of us current  Members. I just can't believe that apparently every driver on the Master List has been hired.

' every driver hired under the master list"

But at what pay rate?

gigi11744

Have to ask wake up 123 why would want to know what rate of pay someone agrees to work for..

Are you saying that you know the Master List has been depleted or are you quoting my question?

Grrr

Sounds like there is a shortage of drivers and we're in demand.  More of a reason to get a great contract with raises, pension increases, and givebacks.

2574 on the master list as of sept. 2013,  1 st. master picks netting just under 1200 ( Atlantic express up to seniority no. 90 ) during that pick the union offered up 4 non bus companies , Quality, Pride, New Dawn, and Jofaz, the members were told by Michael Cordiello that taking the spots in those companies would not jeopardize their status as members of 1181, they were 1181 yesterday, they are 1181 today and they would be 1181 tomorrow, the first week in the new non-1181 companies they were handed new union cards  and we're told to sign or be dismissed, when Michael Cordiello was made aware of this , although being promised that they would remain 1181 members , Michael turned his back on them. 2 nd. Master pick netted another 75 ( 35 runs 25 shapes and 15 casuals, before the 3rd. And last pick ( this pick offered less than 15 casual 1181 spots) approximately 400 members were removed from list for refusing to accept casual status at various bus company's and placements at non 1181 companies  ,such as the 4 listed previously , and approximately 225 either gave up or found other employment , at this point the list had 1061 active members who we're waiting for a phone call when as of the last week in. September 2015  the list was removed from the website, as of today the list has not reappeared , THESE  MEMBERS WERE NEVER REHIRED , the union just made the list disappear ,and as of the 2300 matrons only less than 150 were ever rehired being replaced by new 1181 and non-1181 employees at various bus companies.

One delegate was over heard to have said when asked why were all those 1181 companies were given such a free pass to hire hundreds and hundreds of new drivers and matrons from the street bypassing the unions master seniority list, his response was , who the f--k cares , that it was good for the company's to hire on their new cheap contract and even better for us because all those people that got screwed would never vote for us anyway, win win, you get it.

Given the opportunity Mr. Thomas Salerno would welcome the chance to sit down with the members from Staten Island to discuss this subject and other areas of union misinformation and also to address face to face the members that have been constantly attacking his honesty and good character and years of loyal service to this union, just let him know when and where.

With regards to The Drivers Wanted post I have a question specifically for two Members since I feel they are most likely to know the answer. Buzz and John Eadicicco what do you know and have to say about 24yrs1181's last post? Also 24yrs1181 I asked you last week why is it that a never see Thomas Salerno campaigning for himself on this site?

gigi11744

Tell Salerno to crawl back under his rock ,and what kind of coolade are you dinking, you actually believe the crap you throw out there

I don't have first hand knowledge of this so I had to get Ernie's input. In short, Mr. Israel is full of shit. Reliant was free to hire off the street thanks to Bloomberg. Michael made no such promise about staying 1181. If people chose to go to work for a non-1181 company they were fully aware that they could not go back on the master list. If they became casuals for any company, that was their choice. Also, the union can't make that list "disappear." It is controlled by the DOE. Additionally, there are 240 runs that just came down for children living in homeless shelters. There are NOT ENOUGH DRIVERS to fill more than a small percentage of those runs. (There are, however, about 1100 escorts still without work.)

Lastly ... and this is my OWN assertion, there is NO WAY IN HELL any delegate said "who the f--k cares." If there were any validity to that I'm sure Israel would have been happy to publish his name.

In the future, 24yrs, you can condense your posts by just saying, "Cordiello, bad ... Salerno, good." Spare us the bullshit, we'll get the gist.
I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

Why would I want to set up any meeting to hear what Salerno has to say, when he can't even come on this site and speak his mind.Instead he allows his weasel to do his talking for him.Dont have much for anybody who can speak for himself and stand behind those statements.#weakling
