Seen on the table in the back this morning ... are they trying to tell us something?   ;D

I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

I understand the reasoning for posting these letters but whatever Neil and/or our Leadership & ourselves said or signed in the past is just that the PAST! What I want to know and what we are all entitled to know is EXACTLY what our Representation is asking for NOW and what Neil is willing (if anything) to give NOW. Then at least we all can make an educated decision on how & what to do if needed. Obviously it's getting to if not already at that point.

I agree. I think we should at least know what they are asking for that we're apparently NOT getting.

And I want a pension increase.  How long are we going to go without one?  Any deal without a decent pension increase gets an automatic NO from me.
Stop selling out your future for a Friday morning check.  Every driver and matron deserves an increase.

Your right Grr, A no vote for me too with no pension increase, And I think the retired people who made this Co. what it is today They should get better Medical benefits and maybe a increase too. We should all walk out the door, I am in for a wildcat strike anyday anytime fuck them all.

Wildcat Strike No it has backed by the Union. Obviously we all want more and obviously none of us want to lose our jobs entirely. When we signed the last MOA that we ended giving up things (all those things which add up to one thing...Money) did anyone really thing that if Neil got an extension he was just going to give it back and more without a fight. Unfortunately it looks like  (you never know what negotiations with an arbitrator may bring) times may get rough again. Let's settle down and think but as always remain UNITED no matter what!

Back In November 2013 when we were asked to approve our most recent contract, I thought, instead of having a clause that it could be renegotiated, it should have had a clause that stated if Pioneer got an extension we would automatically revert back to our previously approved contract (i.e., not the "imposed" one).

Being our approval of our latest contract was predicated on the assumption that the company would need the leverage to bid competitively, and that it turned out this was not necessary, we should have had the benefit of a contract "extension" ... just as the company did.

Had this been the case, negotiations now would be starting off where we were before the strike, instead of starting off in a hole and having to fight (and maybe strike) just to get back what we once had.

Obviously I and I would assume everyone else agrees with your last post. My curiosity as usual, I have to ask. Why didn't you voice those thoughts back in November of 2013 or is this an after the fact thought?

So WHAT has changed since the Michael Cordiello slate has taken over the business of 1181?
NOTHING... But Givebacks and concessions!!!! Smarten up people!

Oh, I did but ... who am I??? And for all I know they may have tried but the best they could get was "renegotiate."

I think the union is doing all they can and we just have to have faith in them regardless of the past. After all it's all we have now.
But seriously..bashing the union is NOT the way to go like some seem to feel on here.

I know you have to bash Michael, that's a given, but in view of the industry climate in '13 Michael did the best he could. We got the best contract in the business at that time. We (overwhelmingly) approved the contract believing it was necessary for Neil to stay competitive. It is he who is making a mockery of our good faith and doing what we thought was for the good of the company. Let's put the blame where it belongs.
