PROUD MEMBER

The Ballots for Union President & Delegates are to be sent out by the end of this week. I urge all Members as soon as you receive it to fill it out and return it. Don't wait and don't toss it in the garbage. Some people might say to themselves it doesn't make a difference if I vote or not, but believe me it does especially with what's going on with the companies within this Union.
I personally will be voting for our current President Tomas Fret and his entire slate and I encourage All Members to do the same.
And here's a few reasons why
1. They already have the experience & knowledge of how to run this Union and besides that the delegates already know each & every property inside out.
2. Our current contract which they negotiated is without a doubt the best contract that we have had since Bloomberg left office.
3. With regards to run coverage at Pioneer they negotiated this recent Consent Award which brought all of that cover work back to full pay instead of the half pay that we were getting since September. And believe me that was not an easy task.
4. I personally ran into let's just say a jam at work recently. I made one phone call and the President and our Delegate John Cleary not only took swift action but got it resolved immediately.
5. I got to know Tomas the President & John our Delegate on a personal basis and they mean business. No owner is going to run over any Member!
Again I urge all of you to mail those ballots back ASAP and vote for
Tomas Fret and his Entire Slate.
Spread the word to all drivers and attendants.
PS If you do not receive a ballot by 5/23/25 than call 1-800-529-5218
Mon thru Friday 9am-5pm
1181 STRONG!!!!

I mostly agree with you with the possible exception of one of the new delegate candidates added to the slate to fill a vacancy.  I'm not all all sure nepotism qualifies one for the position.
I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

No it doesn't but I'm sure he has knowledge of the inner workings of the Union. Specifically this Union which obviously would give him the qualifications in question.

From what I've heard ... from very knowledgeable sources ... he has very little knowledge of anything, with being the president's cousin his sole "qualification."

But, if he's the guy for you, vote as you see fit.

Source"s"
U must be doing ur homework
And I'm curious what does ur source"s" tell you about the opposition's ENTIRE other slate?
So are you saying bc of one person on an experienced slate that you'd rather vote for the opposition?
But, if that's the slate for you, vote as you see fit.
And BTW do you know the qualifications (if you even know the name) of the candidate on the opposition's slate that is running against the President's "cousin".
Or maybe you didn't do that much homework.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. I have no intention of voting for the entire other slate. Rather, the entire current administration's slate except for that one position, probably. The other candidate for the same delegate position, I believe, is Jose Serrano and, as I understand, has a little more on the ball. Some may wish to look at it as the lesser of 2 evils.

You do realize that the choice is not just between one slate or the other, right? You can vote for individual positions. Ask around, you may think differently. If not, that's fine, I respect your opinion. I understand your allegiance to Tomas and have no problem with that.

Of course we can vote for an individual but the overwhelming majority of us that do vote always vote for a Slate. And I do not believe that an individual has ever been elected that wasn't on the President's Slate that won the election.

Obviously I had to find out the qualifications of the candidate in question. So 9:00am I got on the phone and did some more homework with regards to the President's cousin (who goes by the name Carlos).
Carlos has been an Organizer, a Shop Steward for 10 years and has an excellent record in winning hearing. On the other hand without completely bashing anyone, I am told Jose Serrano experience & record with the ATU isn't even close. Maybe you should contact your source"s" and tell them and see what they say.

You are correct on both counts, sir.

Yes, he was a shop steward at Reliant and he's a shop steward for NYCSBUS now, losing to Serrano by 2 votes.

Look, I'm not going to bash the guy on here, nor am I trying to convince you of anything. And if my cousin offered me a chance at a position to make $165,000 a year I'd  take it too, so I can't blame him for that,

Only $165,000
He might be better off here as a driver covering work!

LOL!! I had the same thought!

Thinking about it, I may not vote for either one. If there is a way to enter a write-in, I'll make sure I spell your name correctly. I SHIT YOU NOT!

You are my idol! When I grow up I want to be just like you ... preferably with hair.  :rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:
