Work Related / Tire valve cap violations
June 06, 2012, 04:46:39 PM
Apparently we got word that some Atlantic buses got violations for not have caps on the air valves on tires. Really?!! Why don't these inspectors just go into these companies with guns and say, "Give us your money."

Ridiculous! If you're missing any, see the shop.

Work Related / Snow days?
May 13, 2012, 09:14:38 PM
According to an article in the post Frioday, some principals are asking for June 25 & 26 to be teacher training days, being there were no snow days. The last day is Wed., the 27th. Being it's not one of the 40 guaranteed, I'm guessing we'd only get paid for the Wednesday if this were to be. In that case, we'd be eligible for partial unemployment.

Work Related / Summer Work
April 19, 2012, 02:12:49 AM

If you're thinking about picking a summer school run you'd better plan on working through Aug. 8, even though the last day of instruction is Aug. 2. That's what they had to do last year but didn't find out about it until the week before.

Work Related / Condolences to Tim B.
March 30, 2012, 03:44:49 PM
Tim's brother, Ed, was electrocuted on his job as an elevator mechanic the other night. From the comments by a coworker in this article, Ed Bradley was apparently as well liked on his job as Tim is on his. Sincerest condolences to all.

Work Related / 55 of you may be moving up!
March 29, 2012, 02:46:01 PM
55 of us have banded together to increase our chances of sharing the half-billion dollar Mega Millions first prize to 55 in 175,711,536 (or 1 in 3,194,755). That's only about 9 million each gross, but I don't think too many will be sticking around to reach the next pension bracket.

Good Luck, all!

Work Related / Shop Employee of the Month
March 28, 2012, 02:39:45 PM
My nomination for Shop Employee of the Month is for Mike, the fueler on duty this early a.m. Manning 2 pumps by himself, doing his job to the fullest, checking under the hood first and not closing it until fueling was done (in accordance with the new procedure since somebody almost drove away with a gas pump attached ... resulting in THOUSANDS of dollars in damage, by the way.) And it's not the first time I've seen him do this.

I've heard a lot of complaints about long waits on line lately, but Mike should know his extra effort is noticed and greatly appreciated. The kid is worth every dime of starting pay he gets!

Thanks, Mike.

News and Views / Bam defies congress again
March 23, 2012, 05:06:17 PM
Obama defies congress again by agreeing to give $1.5 billion to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/03/screw-democracy-obama-administration-will-give-muslim-brotherhood-1-5-billion-in-us-aid/

But it's Fox News' fault people question his alliance with muslims. What an anti-American disgrace this guy is.
