Ernie's out, but he texted me that NO 1181 matrons worked.

Ernie was supposed to have an operation yesterday but it was postponed for 2 weeks due to illness. All I'm saying is, when he sees the question I'm sure he'll reply. I want to know too.

Ernie's been sick. He's not on the site 24-7. Give him a chance to answer.

The shifts are now 3 hours. At Arthur Kill they're 7-10, 10-1 and 1-4. At Atlantic and Island Charter they're 5-8, 8-11, 11-2 and 2-5.

So I guess it's every shift for themselves with the firewood, huh? This morning's 6 a.m. guys would like to thank yesterday's 2 - 6 p.m. shift for leaving not so much as a toothpick to burn on an 11-degree morning!

Actually, as of tomorrow, they're going to be 3-hour shifts, so your 2-6 will be 1-4. Waiting for Andy to call me back with the details ... post them as soon as I can.

Well, I know councilman Charlie Barron was on a picket in Brooklyn with us, but why don't we hear from any of our other elected representatives regarding our plight? Afraid to stand up to the mayor? Where do they stand on the safety of the children of people who voted for them? Where do they stand on job protection for people who voted for them? Will any of them make an appearance and walk with us for a while?

We're not striking because of pre-K work. We're striking because the mayor is putting K-8 work out for bids without the EPP.

Weaken our union? Dude, he's trying to break our union. That's Mike's goal in life ... to have a legacy as a union buster. We have to stick together, ride out the storm and hopefully we'll still be here long after this pr!ck is gone.

Well, if you're feeling the pinch now during the strike ... which is understandable ... what will you do in a couple of years when our jobs are sold out from under us ... permanently? Nobody wants this strike, but we've got to nip it in the bud, bud.
