When you say talk to a tier 3 supervisor how do you connect to that person?

You call the regular 800 number , then after you talk to the regular operator they will tell you that that is above their job requirement and only a Tier 3 person can help you . They hook you in and usually you have to wait for a call back due to severe backlog . The Tier 3 person  called me back the next Day but it seems
That it was all for nothing .

wheresmymoney!

What do you mean it was for nothing?

Did you read my previous post ? I went through all the Nonsense already . Opened a book , waited two days for them to call me back . Not supposed to have a waiting week ( Waiting week is supposed to be waived) . Haven't been paid for waiting week , Filed a claim this morning and it said my benefit year has run out after all that I went through Now I'm back at square one . That's why I said i"It was all for nothing" because i obviously Have to call them again and start the whole process over apparently. It took me 2 days to get through to them ...

Just gotta this from unemployment

Dear New Yorker:

We understand there may be confusion following the President's announcement on Saturday about additional unemployment benefits. While open questions about this announcement are resolved, please continue to certify weekly to ensure you receive your Unemployment Insurance (UI) or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) benefits. We will process any additional benefits if/when they come due if you continue to certify.

To allow your fellow New Yorkers to reach a representative for regular UI or PUA matters, please do NOT call the DOL to inquire about the federal administration's announcement at this time.‎

Just posted this in a new thread ... before I saw your post. Didn't mean to step on your toes.

Update on opening my new book on July 20,2020. Still no money from unemployment but told it is in the system.  Review of my case just to let everyone know what I experienced with unemployment. After opening the new book and trying to certify the next Sunday unemployment said I had a break in service dating back to May 3, 2020. Even got a new monetary award notice saying my new claim start date was 5-3-20. So I never finished certifying online and decided to call unemployment. First call, week of 7-20-20, was told, " I have no idea why when you try to certify for weekly benefits you are getting the message you have a break in service and haven't claimed benefits since 5-3-20. She went on to say I will have a specialist call you could take up to 3 days. But the girl did take my weekly claim over the phone. No call back from a specialist the whole week of 7-20-20 and no money, waiting week, ect.
Next week, starting 7-27-20 tried again to certify for weekly benefits same message as week before you have a break in service..... have not claimed benefits since 5-3-20. Tried getting through to unemployment all this week with no luck.
The week of 8-3-20 got through to unemployment stated all I have been going through and the woman put me through to a specialist. The specialist also told me she has know idea why I am getting the break in claim message when trying to claim weekly benefits she will have to transfer me to another department who could help me. But before she did she asked me, just like the woman the week before, if I wanted to certify with her, right now, over the phone, and I did that. I was then transferred to that 3rd party who stated that there is a glitch in the system that is why you keep getting the BREAK IN SERVICE not claimed since 5-3-20 message each time I try to claim my weekly benefits. She had me on the phone, put me on hold for several minutes while she checked my payment history. She came back on the phone and said yes the record shows that you have been collecting benefits and the message, "Break in claim with the 5-3-20 date should be corrected just continue to claim weekly benefits starting Sunday.
Week of, 8-10-20, TODAY. Tried to certify for weekly benefits, last night, Sunday. Now it is still saying that I have a break in claim but not from 5-3-20 anymore but from 7-19-20 and that you have not claimed benefits since then is this because you worked, YES or NO. How can you answer that since, apparently, as I just stated my claims where taken over the phone the last two weeks when I got through to an unemployment rep. So, TODAY, I called again, and got through, after about 2 hours. The first person I spoke with had no idea how to help me  and had me hold for a specialist. The specialist,Wendy, was very nice and looked up my claim. I explained to her all I have mentioned above. After checking my claim she said that I do not have a break in claim. Her records show  that the last 2 weeks were submitted, as I mentioned above, when I spoke with the unemployment reps and they filed my claim for me. I asked her why I have not gotten any money yet and she said it could take 3-4 weeks. She also told me to claim for this week and if asked the question about a break in claim to answer NO. She further stated that the weekly certification by phone or online is sometimes, not compatible, with current information on file. What a shock!!! So, after hanging up with her, I certified for weekly benefits and YES the break in service question came up. I answered NO as the specialist told me to and my weekly certification went through. Still no money yet for over 3 weeks lets see what happens over the next 10 days. That's my tale of whoa. Hope all fair better when opening a new book but that's what I have been through so far.

Actually, I thought I'd put it off till mid-week, thinking the system will be under less duress. I'll let you know. Thanks for asking.

The only way I've gotten through in the past is start calling at 7:58 a.m. and keep redialing. I usually get in the queue.
